BecomeBulgarian is operated by Lion MGT LLC, 5195 Hampsted VCW #232, New Albany, Ohio 43054, USA (“we”). By creating an account or using the app or this website you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The app is in beta. Features change, some are incomplete, and things occasionally break. We may add, change or remove features, and may pause or end the beta, without notice. Please do not rely on the app for anything where a failure would matter.

BecomeBulgarian is for adults. You need to be 18 or over to create an account and to use the app, and when you create an account you confirm that you are. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under it until you do.

The person who creates the account is the account holder. The account holder may add profiles for other adults in the same household — up to three profiles in all on the free plan, the holder's own included — so each person keeps their own sentences and progress. Everyone who learns on a profile must be 18 or over.

The account holder is responsible for the account and every profile on it: for adding only adults who have agreed to use the app on these terms, for keeping the sign-in private, and for what happens on those profiles. Only the account holder's own profile can close the account, download its data or manage profiles, and Tokens, billing and signing out everywhere appear only on that profile. Profiles are not locked from one another: anyone who can open the account can switch to any profile on it, the holder's included. Share the account only with adults you trust. Deleting a profile deletes that profile's sentences, recordings and progress.

The curriculum is free. The subscription (monthly or yearly), once it is offered, unlocks the practice features and removes the free-tier cap on your own sentences. It is bought inside the app through the App Store or Google Play, and the store's terms govern billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds — we do not take payments on this website and cannot issue refunds on the stores' behalf. The founder price is a limited launch offer at the same features; when the founder window closes, new subscriptions are at the standard price shown on the pricing page.

The phrases, translations, notes, recordings and audio in the app and on this website are ours or licensed to us. You may use them for your own personal language learning. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, scrape or bulk-download them, or use them to train a machine-learning model.

The sentences you write or dictate stay yours. You give us the permission we need to serve you: to store them, translate them, generate audio for them and build practice sessions from them, using our own systems and our AI and hosting providers. We do not train AI models on your sentences; what our providers may and may not do with them is set out in the privacy policy.

A sentence you wrote is shown to a teacher only when you send it for a teacher review, and a teacher may use it as an example in the shared course only if that profile turned on the switch in Settings that offers its sentences to the course. You can turn that off at any time in the app. A copy already in the course carries no name and stays there if you delete your sentence.

Please keep to sentences you are comfortable having processed. Do not put other people's personal information, or anything unlawful, into them.

The app uses AI services to turn your sentences into Bulgarian, check the translation and make the audio; the privacy policy names each one and says what it receives. Before a profile's first sentence goes to them, the app asks for that profile's explicit permission, and you can withdraw it in Settings — the rest of the app keeps working without it.

AI output can be wrong: a translation may miss the meaning, sound unnatural or stress a word in the wrong place, and generated audio is a synthetic voice, not a person. Use it as a learning aid, not as a certified translation, and do not rely on it for anything official, medical or legal. A native speaker checks the curriculum; your own sentences are machine-translated unless a teacher has reviewed them.

• Do not try to break, overload or bypass the service or its limits.
• Do not use automated tools to extract content or to create accounts.
• Do not use the service to harass anyone or to do anything illegal.
• Do not resell access, and do not share an account outside your household: add a profile for another adult you live with instead of handing over your sign-in.
• Do not let anyone under 18 use the app.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, after telling you why, unless the situation does not allow that.

The service is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that any translation is correct in every context. A native speaker checks the curriculum; your own sentences are machine-translated unless a teacher has reviewed them.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or €50 if you paid nothing. We are not liable for indirect losses or lost data — please keep your own copy of anything important. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

The account holder can close the account at any time — in the app under Settings, Delete account, or on this website on the Data page of your account; every profile's sentences and practice data are deleted as described in the privacy policy. We can end the agreement with reasonable notice, or immediately if you break these terms.

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Bulgaria. Disputes go to the competent court in Sofia, Bulgaria. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.

We will update this page when the terms change and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
